Happy Halloween :)
---
My greatest childhood fear was the boogeyman. He was going to get me. He was always there, waiting. He was under my bed and in my closet. While I never could conjure up an image of his face (or body) I knew he posessed fangs and very sharp teeth. I used to draw the sheets up over my face until I broke out in a sweat. I have always been afraid of dark places, especially closets and cellars.

so quiet here...
---
I'm here at work on the 3rd shift, incredibly boring now that I've finished everything I need to do and yet I have three hours left until my boss arrives to relieve me (at 7:00).
---
Im bored silly
---
I am so tired of coffee (ehk I just finished my 4th yet I am still sleepy)
---
I just made one of my infamous "chair-bed's" (pics at the bottom of the post)
---
I met someone tonight offline, it was a disaster, I asked the person to leave. I have the worst luck with these sort of things. Maybe I should try a different approach like um, staying away from picless people. Ever feel like you spend too much time (albeit minimized) in chat rooms? Isn't that how you are supposed to meet people? After a while doesn't your familiar mug (even with constantly updated pictures) kind of give the wrong impression to people? (Hobag) I mean the only ims I get these days are from newbies. You also hear/read about these bloggers who connect via email and then all of a sudden they are together and wondrously happy. (I'm not begrudging (is that a real word?) them, just terribly jealous) How does such a thing happen? Where's the email from my future spouse? What's my alternative? Bars? Did you ever notice gay friends never set you up on blind dates, they usually scoop up the person first lol. Anyone out there want to set me up on a blind date? I'm a nice guy with at the very least a decent sense of humor. :)
---
*feels sorry for himself* (eh...maybe I'm just overtired and loopy)
---
This blog is getting dull I know
---
The little spanish guy Antonio with the big loud vacum will be here soon, so maybe I should drift off now while I can still can.
---
I just made the most incredible rubber-band ball. Isn't it amazing??

---
Let's talk about how Bjork really hates reporters getting in her bizness shall we? All is full of love my arse!

---
Even better let's talk about how that Numa Numa kid is still trying to milk it with a new video!...YIKES! He was so cute in the first one, now he's getting kinda creepy.

---
ok time for a quick nap before people get in on my aforementioned "chair-bed"

---
night night :)

super busy weekend..
---
Just starting to catch my breath after a pretty hectic (but most excellent) weekend...
---

got out of work Friday, ran home, showered, ate and picked up my younger son for the show I talked about here....(All American rejects, The Starting Line, The Format, Gym Class Heroes.)

---
We got there just as Gym Class Heroes was starting, (they were playing this really fun song called Taxi Driver Rey told me about) picked up a couple T-Shirts and headed in. Amazing venue, excellent sound, they were all incredible (well except The Starting Line which for the most part kind of sucked, hecklers were getting rude all over the arena)
---
In all Fairness to them however, this song is freeking amazing! I mean it was even more incredible live than you can probably appreciate from the clip below, but seriously listen to this... I've been playing it a lot the last day or so.

READY

(do me a favor kids, just hit the play thingy and give it one listen, all the way thru)
---
got home just past midnight from the show
---
up at 9ish, picked up kids, and after a couple hours here set off for lunch with my Aunt & Gram to celebrate (with them) my son's bday (which was the 21st but they have been busy)
---
Gram was just the rudest I've ever experienced in my life, even my sons were disturbed. She caused a couple of embarrassing scenes (one over the type of Brownie in her dessert), and all of a sudden is beginning to use wondrous explicatives I didn't even know were in her vocabulary (she has always been the most rigidly proper "lady") like well "Shove that up your fucking ass" and "I don't give a goddamn shit". Yikes! The poor waitress was taken back a couple times. (Well she was speaking to my Aunt, but still it's kind of traumatizing to see an 82 year old lady use that sort of language) Let's just say I don't think my son enjoyed the lunch so much, I had to calm him down and remind him that she is his great-grandmother and he must always maintain a certain level of respect toward her, especially since she is obviously not herself these days. I needed a drink after that one, and so did my Aunt.
---
I dropped the kids off at 5, ran home, ironed a bit (I hate ironing with a passion) and ate something before running back to pick up my older son so we could head off to The Bushnell for an 8:00 presentation of Carmen. Neither of us had ever been to an opera before, he completely enjoyed it, and for myself well, I can now say I've been (read between the lines).
---
There were some hippies in front of us who were really cool, dressed I suppose exactly as they had in 1969 (looking at their clothes, probably in the exact threads, one woman had a flower in her hair). I just love people who do not acknowledge the passing of time, sort of stuck back in their carefree youth. It's like they are transporting you back in time, if even just for a second.
---
He wants to go to another soon, I'm thinking of taking him to either NYC or Boston to one of the larger houses to see something in the near future. It was really amazing experiencing that with him, my dad would have been so proud! (He was a theatre/Opera fanatic)
---
I start Effexor tomorrow, had to put a few days of sobriety behind me (Thursday was the last time) since it cannot co-exist in the body with alcohol without (potentially drastic) damaging the liver. I've never in my life been on a medication for anything, this is a first, so the whole daily dose thing will be a new one for me. I just hate taking pills. I am also going to start taking a vitamin supplement, why not right?
---
So I am working tonight 3rd shift again, and as a result don't have my kids today (we did a lot this weekend, and were up mega late Friday & Saturday nights so I think they might just like the idea of relaxing and sleeping in today) I have much cleaning and laundry to do.
---
Feeling a bit Hanuman-ish today... I found like 100 photos of this Persian named Afshin on a cd while setting up the laptop. This is one of the most strikingly handsome men on this earth (no room for argument guys) Email me if you should like to see "the others".

---
Afshin

---
and because this is a clean blog :) I am linking an even more interesting view here

a few things....
1. I went out last night, it was terribly uneventful, got hit on by a very much older guy who was at the very least an interesting conversationalist. Actually the conversation was mostly about all the 20-40 year olds he's been with in the past 20 years. I drank quite a few Bass Ales. He left, a drug dealing Hispanic Twink took his seat. He was freaky. Looked like a cross between a Hobbit and Enrique Iglesias. He was drinking Tequila and a can of V8 Juice, kept seperate for some reason. I think I lost him somewhere in that makeshift Halloween walkthru thingy they made downstairs at the bar. Gosh it was tacky. Maybe a Troll Goul got him.

2. I came home and someone I don't know posted that I was "sad & ugly" on a video I made for YouTube. (The one cleaning my room) Such the ego boost! :)

3. I posted drunk last night talking about #2 above.

4. This morning I deleted the drunkin post I talk about in #3, along with the Video from YouTube. I guess I fixed that guy sumthin' good!

5. The guy below considers himself sad and ugly, as a matter of fact that's what he has named this google'd picture. I guess I don't feel so bad anymore, he's very nice.

5. I was subjected to some ghetto girl using the phrase "Lemme Get...." 5 times while ordering at a Dunkin Donuts drive thru this morning. That phrase makes me want to kill someone... no really it does.

6. I think I still reek of Bass Ale, though it might just be my paranoia.

7. I sooo love Mr. Secret :) (well in the admiration sense, nothing stalkerish of course)

8. My friend Francesco told me he's deleted his blog, that makes me really sad. xoxo mate

9. I have been really busy lately, and have barely had time to blog, nevermind visit all the people I love off my sidebar. Each and everyone person there is special to me.

10. I am going to try Effexor because it means I won't drink anymore. I have weighed the pros and cons, checked out the websites, reviews, testimonials and side effects. I'm kind of scared a little, as I have high blood pressure.

11. I work with a woman who looks like a monkey, she also is 4' 10" tall and has the shorty complex. Man she is such a bitch, she just walked by my desk yelling at someone.

12. My boss is watching me, I have to go.

13. OH and this is my 200th post since my blog deletion last I dunno when. I wonder how many I would have had all inclusive? Oh well. Have a great Friday everyone.

I don't have much to say today, having just woke up minutes ago, and unlike Mr. Tornwordo I can't put something of any substance together in 10 minutes (he sure can tho, his blog is one of my favorite reads each morning, if you haven't checked him out, please do)
---
I might be the zillionth person to mention , but doesn't it kind of make you hopeful?
(special thanks to Rey , I hadn't heard anything on this before)

TRENTON, N.J. (Oct. 26) - New Jersey's highest court opened the door Wednesday to making the state the second in the nation to allow gay marriage, ruling that lawmakers must offer same-sex couples either marriage or something like it, such as civil unions.

A land of immigrants..
"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp! cries she with silent lips. Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed, to me; I lift my lamp beside the golden door."

Lazarus, Emma

---
I grew up in a family of recent immigrants, well recent in that each one of my grandparents were the children or grandchildren of men and women who left their native lands to seek something better in what they considered a land of opportunity and promise. There was an equal pride among my relations between the "old country" and the land of our birth. If you haven't grown up in an "ethnic" environment in which two languages are spoken, traditional food, customs and superstition a part of everyday life (and especially at family gatherings) it is difficult to appreciate what that experience is like.
---
The old "Yanks" (especially in my parents generation and before) viewed us as different, and likewise we did as them well. In some ways we envied their long family history in this Country stretching back 300 years and in many cases they envied our colorful vibrant and somewhat "exotic" heritage.
---
There was always sort of a subtle distinction, often quickly identified by something as simple as the church we attended or the neighborhood we lived in. Yes we are a nation of immigrants, yet somehow, in the back of our (my family's) mind we were just somewhat different than the old "Yanks".
---

Yankee

(From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

The term Yankee has a variety of meanings. Generally, it refers to citizens of the United States, particularly northerners, especially those white Americans from the Northeastern United States whose ancestors arrived before 1776.

---

The best of both worlds

---
Imagine my surprise when I found my biological parents at the age of 20 and discovered (among other interesting things about my heritage) that I descended directly from a man who arrived at Ipswich, Massachusetts from his native England in 1634, and who, within 5 short years sailed south to The Connecticut Colony, up the Connecticut River and settled on the very land that I now live just 2 short years after the founding of my native city Springfield, Massachusetts (1636). He is my only ancestor who arrived here at such an early date, less than 70 years later the family were captured by French subsidized Indians from "New France" or what has now become the Province of Quebec during The Deerfield Massacre of 1704 and carried north in a bloody march which resulted in many grizzly and unfortunate deaths. The descendants then meshed into the French culture in terms of religion, language and tradition. They did not return for more than 200 years, at that point having lost any knowledge that they were "coming home". It is only through genealogical research that this was uncovered much later.

---
So for today's Way Back Wednesday I would like to pay tribute to that one early ancestor, who settled and owned the very land I now live upon in 1638. His name was...
---
Rowland Stebbins
-
born in Oct 1592 at Bocking, Essex. (England) There he married, 30 Nov 1618 in St. Mary's Church, Sarah Whiting, daughter of John Whiting and Sarah Isabela Smith.

"Rowland Stebbins, 40, Mrs. Sarah Stebbins, 43, four children, and Mary Winch, 15, sailed for Massachusetts Bay in April 1634, aboard the Francis of Ipswich, John Cutting, master. They lived for a year at Roxbury before removing to Springfield with the first settlement party.2 There he took the oath of fidelity 6 Feb 1648/49.3 His wife was buried at Springfield 4 Oct 1649.4 He had a seat in the first pew of the meeting house, 23 Dec 1659.5 He is presumed to have removed to Northampton, where his death was recorded 14 Dec 1671 at age 79." By the records it appears that Lawrence Bliss came into possession of his home lot in Springfield."

---
Finding out about old Rowland certainly doesn't make me feel any different about the fact that I am a proud American citizen (believe me some pompous asses would have you believe the length of time ones ancestors have been living on this soil somehow makes you "more" American than those born elsewhere or of very recent immigrant stock) but what it does do is connect me to the land I live in on a level I could never appreciate before. I can look out my window to the Connecticut River, and picture Rowland's boat sailing up from Hartford in 1638. Now that is an exiting perspective I had never known before. This was a hotbed back then, Springfield completely surrounded by hostile Indian lands. This is why the route from Boston to Springfield was never across the state (or Colony at that point) to the west. You would not have made it past (what later became) Worcester without certain death. It was only reachable by coming up from the Connecticut Colony through Long Island Sound, the River and then past Hartford straight North.

---

yikes...have any of you (fellow New Englanders)
noticed how cold is has become in the mornings?
--
In the spirit of trying to stay warm, here are a few Way Back Wednesday Beachy pictures from my teens to make us think warm thoughts. I look sooo gay in those last three, I was dating the black haired girl in the gold and black striped outfit, the other was my friend Deanna. They fought over me a lot back then, it got pretty ugly sometimes.

(I'm in the chair)

What a disappointment this film was. 2 hours and 15 minutes of pure agony, ok well perhaps that is a slight exaggeration. It began to confuse you right from the start, switching in between different periods of time so small that you could not tell from the Actor's appearance where you were. The entire film is a series of these changes, which thankfully get a bit clearer as it progresses forward. With such an impressive cast (Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman, Michael Caine & David Bowie, who surprisingly was pretty good) you would expect an explosive performance by at least one of them. Even Michael Caine was boringly unimpressive. Bale did impress me with his completely believable English accent, but that's about the only thing I was impressed by. Flat! Flat! Flat! this film was. Bearable enough, but honestly even the aesthetic quality of these two very goodlooking guys was missing. Neither are aging so well, or perhaps it's intentional with makeup, they are not playing men older than themselves so I doubt it's the latter.
---

But that is unimportant, the fact is this movie sucked, I was let down and I much prefer The Illusionist. And look at David Bowie! We weren't even sure it was him until checking later, even tho we knew he was in the film...

looks like an amazing weekend coming up..
so last night I bought tickets to Bizet's Carmen this coming Saturday night. My older son's (who I was supposed to take to a Broadway show, and well, it didn't happen because of my stupidity, read about the mess here) latest interest is Opera, and he has mentioned twice how much he would love to see one. I have never been either, and when I saw The Bushnell in Hartford was featuring two performances this weekend I jumped at the chance to get tickets for us. He was completely thrilled when I told him. I am looking forward to it.

Mary Ann McCormick will be playing Carmen. (Needless to say) I have never heard of her, however her credits are quite impressive.

What is acceptable dress for this sort of thing??

(I always picture men in Tuxedos)

---
and on Friday night, my younger son and I are hitting another show in Hartford:

All-American Rejects
with
Gym Class heroes , The Format & The Starting line

--
I am very familiar with AAR & Fueled by Ramen's (the hottest label in my book right now with both my addictions Panic! at the disco and The Hush Sound under their wings) Gym Class Heroes (who I getting into of late) but the other two bands are new to me. I will have to do some burning this week and start checking them out. It should be an outstanding show.

---
I really thought it was going to be a boring weekend (fundage issues) I am sure I will in even worse financial shape come Sunday, do you know how much Concert T's go for these days? And we can never buy just one!

---
Has anyone heard of this Prescription anti-depression drug called

EFFEXOR Venlafaxine?

I was reading an article about it and was curious.
---
I'm still at work, have to wrap this up.

The Graveyard shift....
---
Yeap, it's 5:13 AM and I'm at work. I hate my job.
---

Went out Saturday night for a bit. I forgot to mention the last time I went to this bar (well I mentioned it, but never went into detail) As I was approaching the club (sober at that point) there were two employees standing outside, a barback and the "bouncer". I didn't recognize them, but the bouncer evidently recognized me from a month or so ago (the night I met Mr. Bean) evidently I was pretty intoxicated that night. As I grew nearer to them the barback said something like "who's THAT?" looking right at me. Then the bouncer said (in a lowish voice that I heard loud and clear) "Oh you don't want to go there he's a mess".

---

Yikes maybe I was that night, that would explain why I gave my number to Mr. Bean.

---

How he determined I was a "mess" from entering a bar drunk isn't really fair, especially since I only go out maybe once every couple months.

---

Not that it mattered, because the barback sat next to me and introduced himself later.

He then proceeded to hit on me full force. I thought that was funny.

---

I showed my son the little video/slideshow I made for his birthday. Naturally the YouTube user name was right there, so I have retooled the video blog so that it has no direct link here. I've even created a new profile. (You can still find it here on my sidebar listed under favorite posts) I also sat him down and explained that if there is ever anything he wants to talk to me about he can, that we don't want a repeat of what happened last time. He understood and agreed.

---

Spent Saturday with the kids, party for my son at Moms and then a shopping spree with his Birthday money. When checking out at Best Buy he handed the cashier 3 50's (the bill was like $138) and I said to her (not sure why) that it was his birthday and he was spending some of his birthday money(and he still had two more parties to go). She sighed and said that she no longer gets birthday money (she was probably early 20's) and then I said, oh now that you are older you must get just gifts you end up returning (my attempt at humor). She said no, "I don't get anything, money or gifts". I wasn't sure how to reply to that so I didn't say anything. I kind of made me sad tho.

---

I have a cold or something, sore throat, light headed, never left my condo today. I didn't take my sons today because of it and am at work right now (3rd shift blech) I hope I feel better by tomorrow, since it is technically my day off.

---

(Pfc. Steven Green)
Four U.S. soldiers charged with rape and murder
---
BBC
CNN
---

FORT CAMPBELL, Kentucky (CNN) -- Four U.S. soldiers accused of raping and killing a 14-year-old girl and slaying her sister and their parents will face courts-martial on murder charges, military officials say.

According to statements given at the hearing, the soldiers were drinking whiskey, playing cards and hitting golf balls when Green brought up the idea of going to a house near the checkpoint where they were stationed, to rape the girl.

Barker described Green as very persistent, Bierce testified. The statements said the five soldiers -- Green, Cortez, Barker, Spielman and Howard -- then changed into dark clothing and covered their faces, before going to the house.

According to Barker, Howard was the lookout and was given a radio to use if anyone approached, Bierce said. The four remaining soldiers then entered the home, at which point the statements from Barker and Cortez about what happened diverge, according to testimony.

Barker told investigators that Cortez pushed the 14-year-old girl to the floor and made "thrusting motions" as Barker held down her hands; then they switched positions, Bierce said.

Sometime during the assault, Barker said he heard gunshots come from the bedroom, where the girl's parents and sister had been taken, and an agitated Green emerged and said he had killed them, Bierce said.

---
I ask you this....
---
Am I the only one that smells a rat here?
-
There is just something way too orchestrated about it.
I can't imagine to what purpose "fabricating" this event would lend itself.
But given my distrust for the current administration.
I just can't believe it happened the way the events are being presented.
---
What do you think?

on to something a tad less tragic and depressing...

Waaaaaaay Back Wednesday....
This is a coin depicting the King Philippe II Auguste of France who reigned from 1180 to 1223. Among his many notable achievments was his participation with Richard The Lionheart and Frederick "Barbarossa" (Holy Roman Emperor) in the Third Crusade. He is also reported to have had a long standing homosexual affair with Richard (who was incidently the son of Eleanor of Acquitaine .. you might remember her depiction by Katherine Hepburn in the film The Lion in Winter.)

---
He is also my ancestor, through my biological mother. The line has been thoroughly documented and is published in several periodicals. Here for fun I will show my descent from King Philippe. I am the 26th generation. This would make him my 23rd Great Grandfather. So here it is generation by generation from My birthmother right to King Philippe.

now wasn't that a fun read? Probably not to everyone,
but hey, it's a unique approach to Way Back Wednesday :)
---
So... I went out last night, for the first time in I can't remember. What makes it even more unusual is that I went alone. That is typically a scary thing to do in downtown Springfield if you are not looking to hookup (which I never am). I guess it's been a while, because I was like fresh meat. Even the bartender was making suggestive jokes (beyond the normal tip generator, this guy really wanted my number and it was kind of uncomfortable) and I had two twinks trying to talk to me, but I had run into a friend and was too busy catching up to really spend any time conversing with them. One was pretty hot (tall, thin, dark) and no older than maybe 23.
---
Eye candy, but not the sort of thing I would would want to persue. They were trying to do that whole "eye contact and hold" thing from behind my friend. Basically if you want to get my attention in a bar you have to either sit down next to me and strike up a conversation or buy me a drink.
---
We hit 3 different (of 5 possible) bars and it was pretty much the same situation at each. Must be the new cologne I bought the other day, or um that I actually ironed my shirt (I had no choice it was a wrinkled mess, tho I did consider just wearing it as is) In any case the night was a real ego boost which I kind of needed. Don't you love how that happens sometimes? I should go out more often. Well, on second thought perhaps that isn't such a good idea.
---
I got home at 2:30 AM and had to be up for 6:30. So I am posting this from work.
---
I'm really tired.

eventful Saturday...

---
We went to see The Illusionist yesterday. Arriving early (35 minutes) to the theatre we decided to get something from the snack bar, where we found working two very talkative guys, one of which inquired as to the film we were going to see. I replied and one of them said, oh that looks interesting, a lot of older people are coming in to see this. I kind of snickered to myself and then the other attendant (who was probably no older than 19) cut in and exclaimed "It was an an incredible film". He was correct, it was riveting. I have always been a fan of Edward Norton, who in my opinion is one of the most talented actors in Hollywood, and he certainly didn't disappoint. My sons had not heard of and were completely unaware of this film before we set out to see it. I guess awaiting the release of The Prestige (a somewhat similar film, although with a much more celebrated cast) I jumped on the opportunity to catch this, and was glad (all three of us were) we did.
---
The attendant was indeed correct, there was not a soul in that theatre (apart from us) under the age of 60. One woman in our row had to be in her mid 80s. I am not sure what to make of this, but none present could have possibly been disappointed. From start to finish we were glued to our seats. Set in pre WWI Vienna, you have an exceptional illusionist & magician (Edward Norton) who discovers the fiancee of Austrian Royal Hapsburg Price Leopold is a woman he knew well as a child. His first love. He manages to use his skill and talent to make the best of the situation (given that the Prince is an alcoholic abuseful fiend). I recommend you not only see this, but in fact purchase it when the DVD is released. It is something you may watch repeatedly (as I will). The turn of events at the end leaves you breathless.
---
As a side note, my ex-wife has discovered this new blog. Thank you Stat Counter. :) I knew it would be only a matter of time, after all it doesn't take a rocket scientist to find this place.
---
Hopefully the issues of our last fiasco will not resurface, but if they should, let the chips fall where they may. I've nothing to be ashamed of, let her read on, should she so desire.
---
Apart from the film yesterday, we ran around quite a bit, hitting Barnes & Noble (where my older son pointed out an interesting book he discovered presenting The South as a victim & casualty of The Civil war (fascinating), while my younger son perused books on Music) Oh and what about this new book: (I found the title rather interesting, I'm sure the authors work wonders with it's subject matter, but still it was sort of an amusing title)

---
We had lunch at Red Robin, which is always a treat (apart from our somewhat negligent waitress who forgot our appetizer) I love that place. If you haven't been to one, make a point to.
---
We then proceeded to Costco (to get what I needed for last nights cheesecake) and then off to my mother's for a half hour to help her with a couple PC issues and program her newly purchased step & calorie counter. (She's always trying the latest new fad out, god bless her)
---
Last night while making the cheesecake (Cherry Swirl, here is my recipe) a bit of the butter from the crust hit the bottom of my stove and set all the fire alarms off 10 minutes into baking it. What a project it was to stop the alarms, try and wipe up the burning butter off the bottom of the hot stove and manage to save the cake. I think it was a success, we shall see. It split in one spot which I think kind of adds something to the visual. Here is a quick snap-shot taken just now:

The final installment (finally 100 entries) of:

10 more useless things about me:

Happy Friday the 13th :) *bonus video*
(just a gratuitous scary old lady pic to mark the occasion)
---
ahh tis Friday, and yet again I woke up 15 minutes late. Damn meds, they keep me up half the night and when i finally do sleep (which is around 3AM) my body shuts down completely. I wish I could stop taking the stuff, but my toe hurts like a bitch and is swollen.
---
The Blogger get together is Sunday, Darin says I should take my Video Camera, and sort of become his on-site reporter. I am seriously considering it. Wonder what the people who will be present would think? Sounds like an amazing idea. But ya know some guys are camera shy. At the very least I will be bringing my digital. What would YOU think if you were going and the Video idea came up?
---
That person I have a crush on is everywhere today. Everytime I walk down the hall we pass each other and sort of intentionally look the other way. Like we both know what's going on yet are uncomfortable. It's kind of funny. Here is a pretty good likeness: (except for my crush has a bowl cutt and is a bit older)

---
Today marks the 10th day of my sobriety. It may not seem like much to some people, but it's pretty significant to me. You can always see how many days sober by the S at the bottom of my post (ex. S10 155). The second number is my weight, just for the hell of it. After Sunday there will be a C in between these two. indicating whether I've fallen off the non-smoking wagon, and to what degree (# of cigs). Keeps me organized and is purely for myself, but now you all know what those numbers mean. I've been asked before.
---
I am so going to get fired (posting from work) so I'll wind this up with yet another...

10 useless things about me

crazy co-workers :)

---
I overslept today, no I mean really overslept. I missed breakfast and rushed around (which is not so wise when you have a broken toe) the Condo trying to get ready. I stuffed my lunch in a bag, grabbed my keyes and ran out the door. I was starving. Usually I will have either Raisin Bran or Grape Nuts, a hard boiled egg and even on occasion Oatmeal. No time for any of that today. Yea ok so I passed two McDonalds and a Dunkin Donuts on the way in. No thanks to either, plus I'm late at this point.
---
I arrive at work, punch in (non-Salaried employee here) and then swing by the Operator to pour myself a cup of Coffee, my stomach is grumbling at this point. As I turn the corner, I catch a glimpse of the most breathtaking cheesecake I have ever seen sitting right there next to the Coffee maker, a welcoming knife lay by it's side. It had the most intricate top made of apples, brown sugar, crumbs & cinnamon, with streaks of caramel drawn carefully across at points.

---

A co-worker was busy cutting himself a slice from this majestic piece of culinary artwork. The inside revealed a thick graham cracker under crust, obviously crushed by hand. I could not believe my luck today and, brushing him (the co-worker) aside I grabbed the knife and portioned myself a huge slice, which I placed on a paper towel (no plates provided) and limped back into the MIS department where my cubicle awaited.

---

Sitting down, I turned on my PC, retrieved a plastic fork from my desk and carved out a large chunk. I was practically salivating in anticipation. Into my mouth it went, and then my half closed eyes shot wide open...."It can't be" I thought to myself, swallowing slowly I took another bit from the slice and once again placed it in my mouth. "Yea, I thought so, Fucking "Mothball Maryanne". I snatched a piece of paper towel, quietly wrapped up the remainder of the cake and deposited them both into the basket beside me.

---
There is a older lady who works two offices away from my own. Her name is Maryanne. She likes moth balls, a lot. As a matter of fact Maryanne protects not only her clothing, but the contents of her cabinets and refrigerator. Everything that comes from Maryanne or her home wreaks of Moth Balls. She wreaks of moth balls, Spring Summer Winter & Fall. She also is an avid baker, and often brings in brownies and cakes for all to share. This was the first Cheesecake I've seen her bring in. Five other people threw theirs out as well. I'm still hungry.
---

Happy HNT :)

(very lame & uncreative today I wasn't in the mood)
