to be 19 again....

Things were so much simpler then.... found this pic looking thru old posts.
---
who knew in just two years we would be married and parents
---
we sure didn't
---
like my ex wife told me a couple days ago ... having kids young is a good thing.
---
oh and I wanted to share my younger son's latest guitar video.
---
We saw this band a couple years ago open for Staind, and I was floored (as was my son)
---

---
That's it for now....

excellent weekend...
Had some extra fundage this weekend and the kids and I went out to a great lunch @ Chili's and then hit a 2:00 showing of Knocked Up. It was hysterical, all three of us loved it. Brought back some memories too, since my ex-wife and I were about the same age (22) as these two back when she got pregnant with our first son (although the circumstances were a little different). They were reading the same baby books, throwing out (nearly forgotten) keywords like epidural, braxton hicks, and my favorite (yikes) bloody show. Ok sorry for that last one, I won't get into what it refers to. :)
---
Anyway, it was really funny (even given that it is a very long film 2 1/2 hours I think). This scene is hysterical, where she meets Ben's roomates. I love the bearded guy's girlfriend Jodie the stoner...

---
Today we had to run over to my Aunt's to help her with some stuff and then came back here to the condo. My older son and I played Zelda Majora's mask (we already beat the game on Nintendo 64 this is a promo version for gamecube I snagged off Ebay a couple years ago). . It has 4 of the Zelda games on it, everything up to (but not including) Wind Waker. I love Zelda :)
---
I have jury duty tomorrow ... ehk
---
I guess I would still rather be there than work.... even though (just like the other two times I have been called) I probably will just sit there all day and not get picked. Oh yea, come to think of it I am supposed to call tonight and see if (maybe) I won't have to serve. I don't remember ever hearing that this actually happened to anyone, but maybe...
---
*dials*
---
oh well I guess I have to report in at 8:00 .. those bastards! lol
---
That's about it I guess ... nothing new to report. Lovelife non-existant now for pretty much 6 months. I guess you have to get out or go online into chat to meet new people.. I haven't been much into either lately.
---
One good thing tho, is that because my younger son has guitar lessons every Tuesday, and I pick him and his brother up right after work, I get an extra day with them. It really is something I look forward to. I can't exactly explain it but it is incredible quality time. They are both teenagers now, and I know the time they want to spend with me will begin to lessen as they start making plans with their friends on the weekends, dating, driving ... etc. It's normal, I was the same way, as soon as I had a car I couldn't wait to get away from my parents. It reminds me of this son my biological father played for me once ... when I first met him (I was 20 at the time).

My weekend....
I had to work Saturday till like 2:30ish....
---
I came home, ate something, cleaned up and then ran up to get my younger son for the show...
---
It was a fracking amazing show ... 2 out of the 5 bands were incredible (the 2 we went to see)
---
We got there at 4:30 and left at 10:00, Fallout Boy was on their 4th song and neither of us are much into them. I mean yea the flames shooting up from stage and them blasting up from below in unison was kinda cool, but still ..... Plus after standing 5 hours in the pit my son and I decided we needed to head out. (I think secretly he asked to go because he likes Sellout Boy about as much as I do and really was sooooo done with 12 year old girls pushing and sceaming). ---
highlights of the night... part 1 Cobra Starship
---
---

Gabe Saporta (lead vocalist) was amazing ... this kid has great talent, charisma, electricity & gave one of the best performances I have ever witnessed. Both of us love Cobra, it's sad they were reduced to the first opener (which is usually an indication they have much room to grow). More people (heaps of late arrivals) need to see these guys live. they.really.do
---
da highlights of the night... part 2 +44
---
---
a bunch of 30something year old guys with serious ties to the late great Blink 182.
---
they.were.fracking.incredible. The lead vocalist ( Mark Hoppus) especially. Once again ...great talent, charisma, electricity etc. Plus he found the fountain of youth, at 36 he still looks 22. Imagine that....
---
disappointments of the night..
---
Paul Wall was ok, not nearly as bad as I thought he would be ... he passed out heaps of t-shirts and even a $30 Grill... "what it do" got kinda old fast tho....
---
The Academy is on the other hand... all I can say is anorexia and screaming teenage emo girls. We got pushed around a lot when their set started. Some of those screaming teenage emo girls were hefty. :)
---
They were pretty bad... excuciating to watch even
---
My son and I are at a loss as to why this band has so many fans
---

so anyway...
---
Amazing show
---
more tomorrow.... in the meantime enjoy this video It's for my son Mike

Aren't I supposed to be like all TGIF and stuff?
such a rough day...

The AC at work died three weeks ago, today (finally) they installed a new one. Of course the electrical guy has to come and check the wiring now, who knows when that will be, and then after that the Heating/AC people need to come back and turn the new system on. They are shooting for Monday. Today the room reached a temp of 88. I kid you not. Floor fans just don't cut it at that temp. It was 79 when I got in at 8AM and only got worse from there.
---
It was mega slow also...
---
then the 2nd shift guy (who comes in at 3 normally) called in late and I had to cover his shift till almost 7. You can imagine....
---
Because of The Memorial Day Holiday on Monday we all have to work tomorrow (Saturday). I am in at 8AM yet again. What sort of company gives you the day off and then makes you work a Saturday to make up for it??? Oh the same one that makes no contributions to the company 401K and maxes out your vacation time at 2 weeks (no matter how long you have been there). Funny how they still find money every year to buy each of our 11 VP's brand new luxury cars.
---
SO I work tomorrow all day and yet my younger son and I have pit tickets to a 5 band show in Hartford that night, where doors open just 1 hour after I get out. I am suspecting I will get home close to if not past midnight.
---
Let's not even go into the fact that my cell got shut off today because I got the "text message of death" two days ago and did not call them because I didn't have $180. handy to keep service going. (damn text messages) I live on a shoestring budget and have had some unexpected bills pop up of late which threw my finances into turmoil.
---
ramble ramble ramble... sorry, it has been a horrible week.
---
anyway................
---
The show tomorrow night should be amazing (not a big fan of Fall Out Boy)
I am there to see Plus44
---
and I am not too happy that this guy
---

---
is one of the openers.....
---
I got pit tickets which are selling for like 4 times what I paid now...
---
Hope everyone has a decent weekend.
