last night was fun...
(not my kitchen, but similar to what I bought)

So I am selling my condo soon, hopefully by the fall and unfortunately there are a few things I have to do to get it ready. The first and most important is the kitchen, it's a disaster. The cabinets are falling apart and need to be replaced. So last night my parents and I went to Home Depot to design the "new kitchen" and order everything. I am staying mid-range in price, I just need them to look decent, not necessarily to be top of the line. You would be surprised how easy they make that for you these days. My step-dad is helping me put them up, this is a first for me. Should be fun and a learning experience.
---
Anyway, I think I did well, walking out of HD and having everything paid for and on order. The total cost was something like $2500 and includes new countertops, sink, garbage disposal and I dunno some extra stuff they said I needed.
---
So in less than a month the kitchen will be amazing (well, much more amazing than it is now)
---
Then I have to attack my bathrooms, which are icky 1970's tile. I mean they remind me of the tiles in my middle school as a kid. Industrialesque. And a really nasty blue.
---
One project at a time I guess...
---
Like I said a few days ago, things are changing in my life really quickly, and for the better. I feel like I am overwhelmed at times, yet really really happy that I have so much less to worry about.

Way Back Wednesday....
---
This is my great-grandmother Catherine, holding my mom.
---
Mom was not (obviously) very fond of her grandmother
---
Catherine killed her husband Frank with a hatchet.
---
Look at that grip on mom!! Yikes!

hey there kids :)
Much of my world has been turned upside down since my gram passed in January. We are still trying to sort out her estate (It's just my Aunt and I) and there is still so much to do. I was her only grandchild, and my spinster Aunt her only surviving child. Everything has fallen on us (and let me tell you it's been really hectic).
---
I mean MEGA hectic...
---
she had so many things, so much clothing/jewelry/furniture (especially lamps, I think it was a fetish) we are trying to get everything cleared out of her condo so we can sell it. Her clothes alone took 40+ bags to consolidate. We are talking Industrial style Leaf bags, and we're not done yet.

I miss reading blogs

I miss my blogger friends

that last post about Weezer's new vid was intended to relay how upset I am they have sold out. I have been a mad fan since '95. I was not impressed with Make Believe (the last) and based upon "Pork and Beans" I probably won't be so much with the new release.
---
" The Pork And Beans video was a Memorial Weekend blowout, getting 3 million views in just 3 days! And counting! According to People.com it was (still is?) the most viewed video on the internet."
---
Yikes, I rest my case..
---
no wait listen to this...

meant to post this last week...

Anyway... this video/song is cheezy (don't be surprised if your grandmother is humming it a month from now) but still... Rivers Cuomo has kept true to form in his efforts to capture mainstream America's attention. How can we forget Beverly Hills? Brilliant Rivers, just fracking Brilliant!!!

I'm doing really well by the way.

:)
