last night was fun...
(not my kitchen, but similar to what I bought)

So I am selling my condo soon, hopefully by the fall and unfortunately there are a few things I have to do to get it ready. The first and most important is the kitchen, it's a disaster. The cabinets are falling apart and need to be replaced. So last night my parents and I went to Home Depot to design the "new kitchen" and order everything. I am staying mid-range in price, I just need them to look decent, not necessarily to be top of the line. You would be surprised how easy they make that for you these days. My step-dad is helping me put them up, this is a first for me. Should be fun and a learning experience.
---
Anyway, I think I did well, walking out of HD and having everything paid for and on order. The total cost was something like $2500 and includes new countertops, sink, garbage disposal and I dunno some extra stuff they said I needed.
---
So in less than a month the kitchen will be amazing (well, much more amazing than it is now)
---
Then I have to attack my bathrooms, which are icky 1970's tile. I mean they remind me of the tiles in my middle school as a kid. Industrialesque. And a really nasty blue.
---
One project at a time I guess...
---
Like I said a few days ago, things are changing in my life really quickly, and for the better. I feel like I am overwhelmed at times, yet really really happy that I have so much less to worry about.
---
more tomorrow....

That's awesome to hear, Jim! I watch those selling homes shows on TLC and it's amazing what a little touching up can do. I wonder if some people, after improving their places for sale, decide to stay because their place looks totally different with just a minor upgrade.

Good luck with all that. It'll be done before you know it.
