I got the text message on Saturday morning that Casey had passed away. I didn't have the heart to call Eron or the other guys in the band... and I still haven't. One of my bands, The AKAs, were on this tour with them and Mike Ski (of that band) was very close to Casey and he's devastated.

I wrote a bit about his death on my blog too. It's sad... a few of us who either worked with Casey or knew him were all talking today and we all said that, while it's not right to have said it should have been someone else, Casey was the last person we would ever want to see this happen to.

He was such a good kid... Never partied hard, always really sweet, and just got married less than a year ago. He was happy and the band seem to be pulling through the tunnel (from a well-publicized lawsuit from their former label). It's awful this had to happen...

I, for one, am really gonna miss Casey. He was a really good kid.

That just isn't right. I hate it when people tell me life isn't fair, because shit like this proves them right. No justice.
