such the eventful weekend...

Yesterday my son and I went to see this.... not nearly (but close) as amazing as the first. I am not usually a fan of the senseless gore fest, but really, there is something more to these films which I really enjoy (hand half covering my eyes of course).

---
We also had time to make another (his third) Guitar video for my younger son. You can really tell he's improved substantially. I still can't believe he's only twelve and just over 5'11. Every week he seems to get taller.

---

I didn't get to spend any time with my older son, he had a lot on his plate this weekend between preparing for his upcoming school musical (Beauty & the Beast) and heaps of homework. I missed him.
---
Finally, today was sort of laid back. But I did have time to whip up one of my Cherry Swirl Cheesecakes (the recipe here)

Hope everyone is having a relaxing Sunday :)

I had the day off ....
and decided to clean. I started at 7am and have been going all day. I did every bit of laundry I could and scrubbed down each and every one of my 5 rooms. I wanted to have my Gram and Aunt over for dinner Monday or Wednesday so this was kind of a necessity. Isn't it fracking amazing how much better we feel in a clean/organized enviornment?

This is sort of interesting ....

Damien Rice -- Elephant
so...
I was really getting sick of the generic template that blogger forced me to choose a while back when I switched over. I decided to make my own, and took a couple pictures to create a new banner as well. Usually when I do this quite a few people tell me it comes up all wonky and won't load right. I guess I am expecting this to happen again, so we'll see.

If anyone experiences something weird when they load the page could you comment or email me? (or if you hate the look in general that would be great to know as well)

anyway.... things are great at the moment. Day 28 in fact.

more tomorrow...

very niiice....
snagged the Borat Box DVD w/tshirt Saturday. I had some Reward Points at Best Buy to cash in and intended to buy the DVD anyway. We saw this in the theatre and laughed our butts off.
---
Saturday was busy running around, older son is in a musical (Beauty & the Beast) and younger son had to go early to a friends house so they could hit Pearl Street for a Gone by daylight , Maverick West show. I am kind of jealous I couldn't go with him, but I thought he should have fun with his friends, no need to have dad there. Maybe the next show....
---
---
anyway....

Started venturing back into chat, ehk the place hasn't changed (did I think it would?). For some reason I don't have the patience to sit in front of this PC these days. I get bored so easily, and since I don't go to bars anymore I am feeling isolated. But at least it's a sober, healthy isolated right? I'm still waiting for that random email from someone which says... "I've been reading your blog a while now, I am local, let's get coffee sometime ... hehe yea right
---
so it's Way Back Wednesday ...

---
I dunno wtf little goofy thing I was doing in the 2nd picture yikes!! How gay is THAT?
---
Happy Humpday everyone .. :)

Hey Kids....
Life is going pretty well. I have been staying away from the PC, reading, watching heaps of movies, and pretty much just trying to get healthy sans hooch. It's been 18 days and I am feeling amazing. They say change your routine, and that I have done. It actually works pretty well. Today I joined Blockbuster online (they offer better services than netflix, especially how you can return a dvd at a store and exchange it for a new one WITHOUT (yea I said without) it counting toward your monthly limit. How amazing is that? And on top of that they give you a monthly store coupon for a free rental.
---
So I was perusing through the DVD's they recommended (after a quick survey) and THIS one came up...

---
Wade's constantly exposed buttcrack annoys his roommate Brian to no end, so Brian kills him. Unfortunately, Wade returns as a zombie, buttcrack still flagrantly visible. ~
---
Thanks Blockbuster, but I think I will pass on that one.

answers to four truths and a lie ... from yesterday
I was tagged for this same Meme last May (which you can read here) and then again a few days ago by Stevie. Like Polty, I love this one, it's fun to do, and even more fun to read what others post about themselves.
---
so which one is the lie?
---
1. My grandfather's mother hacked her husband to death with an Axe in 1921.

True
(If you are really bored and want to read the gory details on this click here) Essentially, my great-grandmother Catherine did in fact bludgeon her husband to death with a hatchet (not an axe (sorry for that mistake on my part) My grandfather was just 5 years old when this happened, and it was something that haunted him until he passed away in 1998.
---

2. Even though I began College immediately after graduating High School, and maintained Full Time Status (officially) and incurring the cost of full tuition, it took me 15 years to finally complete my Bachelor of Arts Degree.

True
It did in fact take me 15 years to complete my degree, primarily because I got married and started having children Sophmore year and had to cut back on my classes right off. The sad thing is that my School was constantly re-evaluating their requirements, and should I not have maintained full-time status (regardless of how many courses I was enrolled in that particular semester) I would have been subject to the most current degree requirements and (on more than one occasion) would have had to take additional classes. While the tuition was somewhat less than if I had been enrolled in 5 courses, it was still pretty steep. My grandparents understood this and saw me through to the end financially.
---

3. I have visited every (formerly termed "Western") European country except Norway, Finland & Greece.
True

(age 19 Firenze, you can see the Ponte Vecchio behind me, my first of six trips overseas)
---
4. My adopted mother has been married 4 times to date, and currently resides in Vermont.
False
---
My parents divorced when I was very young and my mother remarried not long after. They will celebrate their 28th anniversary in August and currently reside in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Florida.
---
5. I am distantly related to Anderson Cooper.

True

---
My grandmother Claire is a 4th cousin to Anderson (see chart above), both descendants of Cornelius & Sophia (Johnson) Vanderbilt. While I do not know him personally, I have met and spent some time with his mother back in my teens, she is a very charming lady.
---
well that's it, I am running late (as usual) and need a shower...
---
Have a great Weekend everyone :)

It's called 4 truths and a lie ... you have to guess which of the following is not true.
---
1. My grandfather's mother hacked my her husband to death with an Axe in 1921.

2. Even though I began College immediately after graduating High School, and maintained Full Time Status (officially) and incurring the cost of full tuition, it took me 15 years to finally complete my Bachelor of Arts Degree.

5. I am distantly related to Anderson Cooper.

There you have it, now try and guess which of the 5 above is not true. :)
